what is up with guys who claim to be agnostic/atheist falling for girls who claim to have faith and a relationship with their creator??

We know it can't work. Unequally yoked...ring a bell?? Ahhh yes, it's coming back to you isn't it??  "Oh, but..he's searching, I can feel it." Oh my, I have used that one myself. "He's been hurt...I can show him not all christians are the same." DANGER!!! "He just needs love." RUN AWAY! You are NOT his own personal Jesus that just happens to be have boobs, a butt and give him long hugs.

I've been there, it's a bad place. You cannot save him! And you cannot justify in your head that you're just friends when you know there is more than that.  it only leads to heartache on both ends.
